Water Water Everywhere...Almost

update on watergate 2006

finally got ahold of someone at the HOA who told me he'd have to "check with the president of the HOA" and get back to me.

which, of course, he didnt do.

So I called our city manager, city council offices, and so on and so forth.

I finally worked my way to the legal department at the city utilities.

I explained the situation for the 80th time. Also explained that I had called the news about this situation. I had a tenative meeting @ 2pm with the producer of 7 On Your Side. which I did.

Nice City Lawyer Lady told me to bring by a copy of my deed showing the date I took ownership of the property.

I did just that. Spoke to 2 of the 4 big supervisors there. In person.

I was told that the HOA had not paid water since july 2004.

I told them that I had no connection with the property or the HOA until May 24th 2005. I had also told this to damn near every person I spoke to.

But maybe it was the fact that I was there, face to face. Or the fact that they finally realised I was not going anywhere until I had some sort of answer I was satisfied with.

But they said that if I paid the water dating from when I took over the property, they'd turn water on and put water in my name from here on out.

And while it is not the MOST fair answer, it is the most reasonable.

Next, negotiating with my HOA to take the 261 off future hoa fees. plus $40 a month for the water I will now be paying. Plus $20 since no one mows my lawn and I have to hire some kid to do it. Plus $26 for the fact that I now pay for my own trash services.

I figure my HOA fees have gone down to about 11$ a month
